Dirk Coetsee and Bernard Joubert[/caption]Petra Institute appointed Bernard Joubert as Managing Director on 10 January 2020. He succeeds Dirk Coetsee, who has made a significant contribution to the development and expansion of Petra Institute over the past 16 years.Although Bernard, a table grape farmer from De Doorns in the Western Cape, only now joins the organization, he has been involved in the work and training of Petra Institute for 23 years and gained rich experience in children's ministry. Bernard and his wife, Chrismaré, were trained at the institute in 1997, whereafter he began equipping people in the Western Cape. The old prison in De Doorns was converted into a training facility and served as a satellite campus of Petra Institute. Bernard was instrumental in the establishment of Children Mission in Ukraine, and from there the work expanded to Russia, Moldova, Armenia, Latvia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan. He also helped in Luanda, to develop our Angolan Operation Mobilisation partners.Dirk will, henceforth function as General Manager: Strategic Relationships and still be involved in mentoring our partners. The Board of Basilea, management, staff, and associates thank Dirk for the significant contribution he made during his term as head of Petra Institute. We also wish Bernard the Lord's blessings for the way forward.
