GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER: CHILDREN PRAYING FOR THE UNREACHED

What do you get when you combine Psalm 2:8 and Psalm 8:2?

A Global Day of Children Praying for Unreached People Groups!A group of adults and children joined from 22 countries (Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Finland, Malawi, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Angola, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Cape Verde, Argentina) across the world to pray with the focus on the 10/40 Window - an area north of the equator (between 10 and 40 degrees). It is considered an area of the world with great poverty and low quality of life, combined with lack of access to Christian resources and unreached non-Christians. The group targeting this area was the 4/14 Window - kids between 4 and 14 years. The occasion was organised by Children in Mission - a movement to mobilise children to be involved in missions by praying, going, and giving. In Africa, there are about 1 000 Unreached People groups. Globally, there are still over 7 000 remaining unreached people groups.

That is about 3.7 billion people who have not heard about Jesus.

Children took the lead in praying for these groups, while adults just assisted in the flow of the programme.

One of the participants said:

"It’s a first experience for us as children and teenagers. It is strange for us to know that there are other children that have not heard about Jesus, but we thank you for making us pray for them because we want them to see Jesus as well.” (Age 11)
Response from others:
"Isabel was affirmed in her relationship with Christ, to experience and gain confidence that she can be an intercessor."
And a prayer from one of the adults:
"Rejoicing with weeping over the faces of the children in these pictures. Lord, from the purest motive of their hearts - love - use these prayers offered this day to shift nations, change atmospheres and add souls to eternity! Be glorified Father God and pour out Your Spirit..."
